Use case or problem
Obsidian allows you to rename your files and folders with reserved link syntax. I thought this was a bug at first, but actually this is part of the design:
The issue is that if a top level folder or highly linked note is changed to have a link syntax character like #, [, ], ^ then all links would update and break, since links will not be detectable anymore. So, now any future renaming of the file or folder will not update links.
Proposed solution
Allow a setting that a user can toggle, that would ban them from using link syntax characters in their folders or files.
Perhaps this new setting I am proposing, should be turned on when a new user downloads obsidian. And only when they know what they are doing, can they manually go into the settings and turn it off
