Bases: Update Filter when Target Entity is renamed (Link, Filename, Folder)

Use case or problem

Adding a links to or in folder filter in a base view and then renaming the file or folder doesn’t update (rename) it in the filter.

Proposed solution

Update the entity in the filter when it’s renamed.

Note: Adding this feature is complicated and may take some time.

To make this a bit clearer, I created two files, representing a typical use-case: A project lists all tasks that reference it in a property.

Renaming the project now updates the properties’ values but the task is gone because the enlisting base is still on the old value.

This would also better support importing notes/bases from other services.

Specifically, the notion-api importer created by the Obsidian team. When this importer imports notion databases it filters by a base field added to each note frontmatter which links back to the parent base.

When a base gets moved, the link in the filter doesn’t get updated and the base becomes empty. It is then necessary to manually update the filter to get those notes to show up in the base again (since the links in the frontmatter do get update when the base is moved).

Use case or problem

Links in the declaration of bases don’t update. For example when i rename a specific note and I’m filtering based on which Notes link to the specific one, then the bases have to be updated manually. Expected functionality would update the base file or the base codeblock.

Proposed solution

Dont ignore link checking in bases codeblocks and files.

Current workaround (optional)

Would like to know. The first I encountered this issue was when i tried to use templater to generate a base with a link as filter. I wanted to rename my file after and it ended up breaking the base.

This appears to still be broken on my end!
