I am a little torn on this. It’s not a mobile specific problem because it behaves the same way on desktop. I am not sure why you mark these bugs as mobile-specific bugs.
What you are implying is that for pinned tabs, when always focus on new tab is off, simple tap should act like “open in new tab (in the background)”. I’ll talk with the other members of the team about this.
I spoke with the rest of the team. They think that a single click/tap on a link should always assume that you want to activate that page. So the new tab should be made active.
You are gonna have to open a Feature Request for this. Sorry!
Pin tab, open backlinks, scroll to the backlink you want to open, tap, open tab switcher, go back to the pinned tab, open backlinks, scroll to the next backlink you want to open… ↩︎
