The plugin “donate” button uses a “heart” icon in the community plugins section of setting menu. The “heart” icon might lead to some misinterpretation by a user, who might confuse it to being some kind of rating system or a social media “like/favourite” button. On desktops, only when the pointer hovers over the button, a “Donate to Support XYZ plugin” popup message appears. On mobile device, the user has to tap the button for a popup message to appear. Unless these actions are performed by the user, the purpose of the button remains unclear.
Proposed solution
In order to make the purpose of the button clear from the start, please change the icon to the “hand-coins” icon available from Lucide. The icon would bring more clarity to the user and might help respective plugin developers get more donations.
