Option to turn off new "auto-renumber" feature in future releases

I don’t mind when Obsidian increments numbers when I’m building or editing a list. But the current v1.8.4 bug that is treating all of the numbered lists in each document as if they’re one list, so that it keeps incrementing as you go further down in the document (across empty spaces, headings, etc…) is an unwanted feature (by me). Even if it is fixed so that is re-numbers each list individually, I don’t want it.

I’d love to be able to trigger a re-numbering, document-wide, but I don’t want it to work automatically, and would rather turn it off completely, so that if I really want to, I can manually start my numbered lists at 2, or 5. I’d like to be able to skip numbers, and even do them out of order, unless I trigger some command or plug-in that re-numbers the list my cursor is in.

Please make it so that the fix to the 1.8.4 bug, or a later release, allows us to turn off the automatic, document-wide renumbering of lists.
