Hello!
<So, yes I was trying to refrain from creating this as well hoping to find my own solution, yet here we are … In any case, I am having issues with Obsidian Sync where it won’t actually sync my Plugins, their respective config, and those are the biggest things thus far, but a pain to have to search and install once again on my respective devices.
I made sure that my local vault copy is solely on a local location vs in a different cloud service and yet I still have the issue every time I install a new community plugin, I go to check on another device by force closing the app and then allowing everything to sync and so on. >
<“Obsidian Sync”, “sync”, “sync plugins”. I have ensured all my respective devices have the vault stored locally and are not linked to any other cloud service other than Obsidian Sync. I’ve tested multiple times with multiple different community plugins. Also saw this article - Obisdian Sync not Syncing - #8 by Licat where Licat was able to assist/resolve a user by “remotely triggered[ing] a flush”, so hoping for assistance on the “back end” of things I suppose to help resolve my issue.>
Are the options you want synced (Settings > Sync > Vault configuration sync at the bottom) set for all devices? Sync settings are per-device. Something to double check.

Hey thanks for the response! Yes, I checked to make sure and you can reference as well in the attached screenshots. These are my main devices and you can see they are all toggled on for each device.
On the desktop/laptop, you could try toggling off a few of those settings, restarting, and then toggling them back on. Then install a new community plugin or make a settings change to an existing one to see what the sync log says (it should show things being uploaded to the remote vault).
Once you confirm things (plugins, themes, settings changes, etc.) are being uploaded to the remote vault, you can then move on to mobile to see what’s going on with the sync log there.
That’s what I would do. Before you start, make a backup of your .obsidian settings folder on desktop just to be safe.

Made a backup, thanks for mentioning. I toggled all syncs mentioned in previous screenshots. Quit application. Toggled all syncs back on. Made various modifications to settings/configs, plugins, installed additional plugins, etc. Doesn’t seem that I can attach .txt files here, so how should I provide my logs?
If there’s nothing private and okay to share, you can paste it in here in a code block . Hopefully someone can spot something.

Note that the tablet log is primarily filled with my Readwise sync, and that’s only because it isn’t syncing my Readwise config where I updated its path to store its folder, so it’s going off of its default and creating an entirely new one. Not sure what to do about this, really love the product, but the sync is really messing me up across the board.

You could have a look at the contents of the .obsidian/community-plugins.json file on each device. That’s the list of enabled community plugins.
I’m not sure if I can offer any more assistance. Maybe someone else has a few things to try.

I ran into a similar problem as you and a person in this older thread :
I set up some plugins and configurations of them on my desktop, with all sync options toggled on. But when opening the ios app, my plugins don’t appear, even after restarting the app on desktop and mobile. I watched the sync activity live on my phone, and it did show that the config was being synced, but the changes then were not reflected in the app.
I could get around this by turning the community “restricted mode” on and off . After that, my plugin with correct settings appeared. I don’t have the time right now to investigate further, but I tested by installing one more plugin and making an edit in the options, and the same thing happened. Bug?
I’m trying to switch from Scrivener to Longform and use sync, but it works poorly if at all, cf. this thread . As it stands now I’m going to have to switch to iCloud or something. Or stick with Scrivener.
There’s clearly a bug in how Sync handles plugins.
