Nested folders

I am studying political science and international relations, so the problem is there are many sub topics which I can’t put in the same file, my query is can I create subfolders to make my notes and organize them in a structured way.
Also, when I create backlinks why do they appear in the left window as suppose to just create a page just like in roam.{i use linux}

Obsidian does support nested folders but be aware that there are some limitations in the usability. The ones that I found were

Allow show folder path in title

For disambiguation purposes allow showing folder path (from the root of the vault) in the title when editing

Allow Show folder name alongwith file name in backlinks

I have a daily note for 2020/04/24 and 2020/05/24. I arrange my notes in folder hierarchy. In one of my backlinks it shows up as 24. Now I have no idea what is this 24. For disambiguation it is essential that everywhere the folder path as well as file name is present

In case of auto-complete of file inside folder only the file name is inserted
