iOS: Opening images in editor triggers the keyboard

Steps to reproduce

  1. Embed an image in a note.
  2. Tap on it.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Y

Expected result

The image gets ‘opened’/enlarged into its own superimposed view and we can zoom in, out, etc. without anything getting in the way.

Actual result

The image opens, but the editor also thinks we’re about to modify its URL/name, placing the cursor on it and triggering the keyboard above the image view.

Additional information

The issue gets triggered with both local and remote images.

As one would expect, this happens both on iPad and iPhone.

See video with behavior.

This doesn’t happen on android. I don’t know if this is an iOS specific feature that we are clashing with

Yes, this is annoying, as well as image pinch zoom (it often seems to lose “focus” returning back to the note instead of zooming).

For the keyboard issue, the best workaround I have found is setting the pull-down shortcut to toggle reader/edit mode… it makes switching between modes seamless and I stay in reader mode for viewing.
