Front Matter and Links

What I’m trying to do

I’m trying to add a clickable hyperlink to an external file on my computer, or to an email address in the front matter of my file. I would like to display a different (pretty) name rather than the whole link.

Things I have tried

---
Source file: “[FileName](file:<FILE PATH>)”
Authors: “[AuthorName](mailto:<EMAIL ADDRESS>)”
---

But this just displays it as the text string {[FileName](file:<FILE PATH>)} and without the “” the front matter breaks. Linking to internal files using [[File|Pretty Name]] works, but I cannot seem to work out how to make hyperlinks work and display correctly in the front matter.
