Use Case
As a user I need to be able to select an existing vault in iCloud after installing Obsidian on iOS.
Fore context: I already have Obsidian installed on MacOS with a vault in iCloud but after installing Obsidian on iOS there seems to be no way to select this vault on the setup screen. Instead, I’m only given the option to Setup Obsidian Sync" and “Create new vault” … neither of which I want to do, obviously.
Proposed solution
When setting up Obsidian after installation in iOS, there should be an option to “use Existing Vault” between “Setup Obsidian Sync” and “Create new vault.”
See “Proposed solution” above.
Current workaround (optional)
I have no idea what the workaround is.
I will probably have to use some other software because I would have assumed this obviously necessary feature would have been included by the developers and can’t imagine why it has been omitted after years of users companying about it, except because you are bating users with the possibility of using iCloud and then forcing them to use Obsidian Sync. I hope I have misinterpreted what is going on here and that some representative from your company will offer an explanation.
Related feature requests (optional)
If you advertise that your software supports syncing its vault with third party cloud services, clearly offer the option to do so on the setup screen. Also, explain how to do so, step by step, in your help manual. But really, users should not need to look up how to use such a basic feature.
