When creating a new note using the “Create new note” hotkey, I want to quickly file it away into the appropriate folder. Currently, I have to create it and then move it separately.
Proposed solution
Ideally, there would be a new command to “Create new note in folder.” I would like the “Move file to another folder” modal to pop up when the command is run, and a new note to be created after selecting the desired folder.
Current workaround (optional)
The current workaround is creating a new note, then moving it with the move file command.
I think the problem is that you can only select files but not folders.
Clicking on folders, either the name, the button-arrow, or the blank space to the right, either shows or hides its contents.
Certainly some users like this behavior, so I suggest adding an option for “what happens when you click on a folder” so you leave the current behavior or clicking on the name selects the folder and clicking on the arrow-button expands or reduces it.
That way, having selected the folder you can use hotkeys to create notes in there or rename the folder.
