Better emojis for windows - Automatically add `Variation Selector-16`

Many emojis are rendered in a “black and white” version by default on windows.
E.g.

  • U+267B (Black Universal Recycling Symbol) is :recycle:
  • U+267B + ️U+FE0F (Variation Selector-16) is :recycle:

EDIT: On the web it looks great, but see the rendering on windows:

As illustrated by this issue, this behaviour is unexpected for some users.

Would it be possible to have a setting that automatically appends the Variation Selector-16 to emoji Unicode input?
