1.8.9 seems to recognize quotes `>` as ordered lists, causing incorrect numbering

Steps to reproduce

I will show several specific scenarios below to present Obsidian’s current actual results. The expected results are indicated in the same-line comment.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N] Y

Expected result & Actual result

Scenario 1, OP: Obsidian Chinese Forum t48758

> 1. item 1
> 2. item 2
>
> some text
>
> 3. new item 1 // Hope the index here is 1 but it can't be
Scenario 2, OP: Obsidian Chinese Forum t48455 (Solved in 1.8.10)
> 1. item 1
> 2. indent item 1 // Hope the index here is 1

3. item outside // Hope the index here is 1

Additional information

Maybe related:

You can try to add a ”- “ before some text:

It is not a workaround, but I hope it can ease your pain.

Moreover, this issue may be related to:

@GLight Yeah I posted it in the second place of Additional information as well before.

Let me add a little more. The analysis provided by the original poster of that post may not correspond to this issue, cause this kind of format has always been just a list.

1. item 1
2. item 2

1. item // can't be. It's in the same list so must be 3.

But a blockquote is a separate block, which differs from this. Since the bug reported by the poster and the analysis look like 2 different cases, I’m not sure which one the “would fix” in the official reply referred to. For Obsidian, the former is an issue, while the latter is more like a manifestation of the basic Markdown syntax. Still, thank you for actively providing suggestions.

Scenario 1 is this Numbered Lists do not properly reset while inside callouts

Please open a separate bug report for scenario 2.1. Thanks.

@WhiteNoise Thank you. Previously, there were users continuously posting similar threads on the Chinese forum, so I created a summary post. At that time, I also suggested that they should report on the English forum in the future. I may not actively follow up on the subsequent situation. Out of a sense of responsibility, I will stop doing it on their behalf for now. Thank you again for your reply.
