Steps to reproduce
- Have a dual monitor setup, with different resolutions (In my case, I have a 4K and 1080p monitors)
- Have the main Obsidian window open on the large monitor, and a second new Obsidian window (from the drop down option “Move to new window”) open on the smaller monitor. (For what it’s worth, in my case the smaller monitor is configured to be to the right of the larger one.)
- Reload Obsidian by the command pane.
I have followed the troubleshooting guide. I have been able to reproduce this in a new, empty, vanilla Vault (not a Sandbox Vault, as Sandbox Vaults close other windows altogether upon reload).
Expected result
The windows, upon reloading, stay the same size.
Actual result
The window on the smaller, secondary screen reduces in size. I don’t have the exact measurements, but it looks like the window reduces by half it’s size in each of the x and y dimensions, anchored in the top-left corner, resulting in the new window being about one quarter it’s original size.

Update installer: installer version too low, please download from Download - Obsidian and reinstall.
Additionally, I have a 4K Monitor (3840x2160) main primary monitor, and a secondary smaller one to the right (1920x1080). The text and font scaling is 150% and 100% respectively.
Additional information
I was unable to reproduce the problem if;
- Both monitors are set to the same resolution (in my case, I tried both of them being 1920x1080), or
- The Main Obsidian window (i.e. the window that has the left side ribbon, the vault selector, the collapsable right ribbon, etc) was on the smaller screen, and the Secondary window (which you open on the main screen, or
- All of the windows were on the same screen as each other.
