Window cannot be dragged from right side of tab bar

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new note in any vault.
  2. Add any one property using the properties panel.
  3. Fill the note with enough content to make the page scrollable.
  4. Scroll the page (e.g., using the right-hand scrollbar) so that the + Add property button scrolls out of view at the top.
  5. Attempt to drag the window by clicking and dragging the title bar / window drag area, specifically the empty space on the right side of the tab bar.

Expected result

The window should be draggable from the empty space on the right side of the tab bar, allowing the user to move the Obsidian window.

Actual result

The window cannot be dragged when the + Add property button has scrolled out of view; the drag action is unresponsive in this area.

Environment

  • Obsidian version: 1.11.5
  • OS: Windows 11
  • No third-party plugins, default theme

Hi, thanks for the comprehensive bug report! I’m taking a look now. Can you let me know what Installer version you are on? Settings › General.

Installer version can directly impact this behavior since the window dragging is implemented by Electron (the framework we use for desktop) and Electron only gets updated when you update the installer.

Installer version: 1.11.5

It’s kind of tricky and sometimes I can drag if I get the mouse pointer close to this divider, but was able to repro on Windows 11.
