It seems that the main thing holding back other apps like 1Writer from being useful ways to navigate a collection of files from Obisidian is that folder paths aren’t encoded in links.
If I click a link in to a file in another directory, Obsidian will find it, even though the link doesn’t contain the path. This leaves every other app that I know of unable to find the file. Why not keep the paths?
