Hi everyone,

Vault Orrery is a community plugin that shows your vault as a 3D star
system. Each folder is a star, its notes orbit it, and links arc between
them. This is my own vault, with 329 notes and 655 links:

I built it because the core graph view becomes hard to read past a few
hundred notes. With folders as stars, the picture has a structure. A busy
folder looks busy, links across folders show as long arcs, and notes
nothing links to drift off into ARCHIVE groups.

What it does:

  • Genesis (G): the sky empties, then refills note by note in the order
you wrote them. You can scrub the timeline.
  • Inspector: click a planet to see the note’s properties, an excerpt,
its links and backlinks. Ctrl/Cmd-click opens it beside the view.
  • Mind map (M / double-click): one note’s neighbourhood, two hops out.
  • Route: the shortest path between two notes.
  • Search (/): across notes and front-matter properties.
  • Broken links, counted and filterable.
  • Poster (P): a high-resolution PNG with no HUD.
  • Quality presets for large vaults, and an interface in English, 한국어,
    日本語 and 中文.

It makes no network requests at runtime: no telemetry and no CDN.

Try it in your browser (nothing to install, nothing uploaded):

Install: Settings → Community plugins → Browse → “Vault Orrery” (desktop only)

Feedback is very welcome. I’d especially like to hear how it runs on
large vaults.
