When the vault is located in a network share, links to files that Obsidian doesn’t manage internally do not work.
Steps to reproduce
- Place the vault in a network share (Samba, or similar)
- Attempt to open a link to file that Obsidian doesn’t manage directly, like a
.txt. - Observe that obsidian fails to open the file, likely because the URL is mis-constructed.
