Typing continues to lag

What I’m trying to do

I am trying to figure out why my typing is lagging so badly in my notes. It will let me type for a little bit but then after a few seconds it starts lagging so that it takes 5 seconds or more for the text I typed to show up. I am on default theme, and the only plugins I have are: Colorez; Side Comments; Slash CMD; Smart Connections; Zotero citations; Zotero Research Assistant; ZotFlow. I only have it connected to my iCloud, and only use it on one device.

Things I have tried

I have tried opening the sandbox, and typing in there the text appears normally, which makes it seem like it is an issue specific to my vault but I don't know how to figure out what the issue is. I don't have any coding background and am only using obsidian as a more connected and integrated word processor.

Typing glitch

I’ve never used any of the plugins you mentioned and I’m having issues too, I was thinking maybe it has to do with Android: Long-pressing items in sidebar views / tabs more than once makes the app freeze (about Webview implementation) but then I disabled everything, restarted and tried in restricted mode and still happens what’s showed in the 2 videos/gifs.

Before that I was noticing that the live preview was taking to much time to “render“. Example, I was typing in a H2 heading and the test didn’t changed correctly, only after some time I showed with the style of a heading.

@jacksback24 I would appreciate you confirming if this is the sort of problem you are having too.

Additionally, the output from '“Show debug info command“ may be helpful.

If you have your vault in iCloud, make sure that any setting to “optimize files” is turned off, so the files are always available offline. If the files are offloading to the cloud it might be contributing to the lag.

Since the sandbox is fine, I’d test this as vault-specific before chasing iCloud. The low-risk path is: make a backup/copy of the vault, turn on Restricted Mode, restart Obsidian, and test in the same note. If that fixes it, re-enable the heavier plugins one at a time — Smart Connections/Zotero-related plugins would be first on my suspect list because they can watch/index while you type. If Restricted Mode still lags, try the same vault with iCloud paused briefly, and include the “Show debug info” output here.
