Steps to reproduce

Open a PDF file

Expected result

Show the content of the pdf file

Actual result

As shown in the fig below, Only images of the PDF file come out, but the app can’t display words

  • Operating system: Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5
  • Obsidian version: v0.7.3

Internal pdf rendering does not display components of PDF

We are aware of this. Hopefully, once we update electron we should get an updated pdf viewer.

Also have this problem. macOS Catalina 10.15.1. It’s pretty annoying because I have a lot of research in pdf form

The problem occurs in version 0.8.12 of Win 10.

Having the same problem on windows with 0.9.2
I see that mods have acknowledged it, however I thought it would be valuable to have someone else make note that it’s still an issue in the newer versions.

I’m having the same issue with 0.9.10 on macOS 10.15.7.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open PDF in Preview
  2. Import and open PDF in Obsidian

Expected result

The files should look almost the same.

Actual result

In Obsidian, many components are not visible.

I can provide some more files if needed.

Workaround is to open it in system viewer.

Now I also have the problem!
All PDF’s in my Vault are blank!

It seems fixed for me for a few weeks now. (OSX).

For me it only happened less than a week ago.
And they are still broken.
Is there a way to fix the pdf’s?
