I’m excited to share Smart Cluster Graph, a new plugin designed to bring clean, folder-based community clustering and intelligent link routing to your Obsidian graph view!
If you’ve ever found the default graph view getting cluttered with overlapping node webs and crossed lines, Smart Cluster Graph automatically organizes your notes into clear, aesthetic topic communities with soft convex hulls.
Key Features
Folder-Based Community Clusters: Partitions notes into distinct, vibrant topic clusters without overlapping bubble clutter.
Strongest Bridge Architecture: Hides internal node web clutter, rendering only the single strongest bridge edge between cluster pairs (capped at max 2 links per cluster).
Line Crossing Avoidance: Smart curved routing algorithm that smoothly bends cross-cluster bridge lines around intermediate cluster hulls.
Tight Soft Convex Hulls: Encloses all nodes and selection rings in tight, semi-transparent polygon envelopes.
Live Node Search: Search and highlight notes in real time directly within the graph view toolbar.
Active Note Highlighting: Automatically synchronizes with your currently open Obsidian note.
Controls
- Single Click: Select node (marks with a crisp selection ring).
- Double Click: Open corresponding note in Obsidian workspace.
- Right Click: Context menu (Open note, Open in new tab, Copy link).
- Search Bar: Filter and highlight matching nodes in real time.
- Pan & Zoom: Drag to pan; scroll wheel to zoom around screen center.
