Select and drag multiple tabs

Use case or problem

I want to move multiple tabs at once so that I can click “close tabs to the right” on the rest of them. Currently, I cannot do this with shift-click, alt-click, ctrl-click…

(Shift-clicking here but only one tab’s selected.)

Proposed solution

Let me press shift and click to select a range of tabs. Let my ctrl-click to cherry pick multiple tabs. It should work exactly as Microsoft Edge does with tabs.

Ideally I could also move multiple tabs to a different window (pane? i.e. to split right or down.)

Current workaround (optional)

Just move one at a time.

I searched and surprisingly this wasn’t brought up yet.

The topic title and content of the FR don’t seem to match here.

If you can’t change the title, let me know what you’d like it to be, and I can change it for you.

Thank you! That’s a title from a post I almost made. Will change.

+1 to this! I was surprised to see it wasn’t a feature already.

+1 I was just looking for exactly this.

+1, One shouldn’t have to request for these basic features!

though it seems like multi select doesn’t work for tab strip or the tab bar but it do works on the navigation menu Select Multiple Notes in Files Tab
though with d/f press for the non contiguous files

  • SHIFT CLICK to select contiguous files
  • OPT CLICK / ALT CLICK to select non-contiguous files
  • Drag and drop works as an alternative to the right-click menu
