I searched for the problem by a variety of terms and found no one describing a problem like this. The closest I found was someone whose files had been replaced by empty blocks, which was a font problem. Nothing like this.
I’m sorry this is happening and I sadly won’t be able to help much (sorry ) but it could potentially be useful to add a bit more context (for those who might be able to help you out :clover: ) :
What device/OS is concerned by the issue ?
Where was your vault located before uninstalling/reinstalling Obsidian ?
Did you sync your vault across devices ? If yes, how ?
…
I quickly googled OC_DEFAULT_MODULE:cipher:AES-256-CTR and FWIW, I stumbled upon results having to do with Nextcloud (mostly) ?
Okay, better context. I was originally using Nextcloud on a Windows 11 computer. In the process of switching to a different computer (a Windows 10 laptop) I also stopped using Nextcloud and used OneDrive to transfer my files because Nextcloud was doing a bad job of that.
I’ve since tried moving my Obsidian files out of OneDrive into the regular documents folder of the laptop, but I’m still getting the same error code. It seems like Nextcloud encrypted something (which I didn’t tell it to do) and now it’s still encrypted even though it’s not on Nextcloud anymore. I no longer use Nextcloud for file storage at all. I like their calendar and email but a lot of their other services were pissing me off. I like things that just work.
