I have this issue, too. Sometimes tapping above the menu dismisses it and lets me do what I wanted to do in the first place, other times it messes up the text selection I made.
Os: Android 11
Obsidian: 1.7.4 (167)
Obsidian Sync: no
Save mode: on
Web view: Version 128.0.6613.127 (661312731)
Problem
In edit mode, line breaks and hashes make it difficult to select multiple lines, so the best way to select text is in preview view.
Since v1.7.4, Obsidian mobile blocks the native copy dialog with a “readable line length” pop-up dialog, this happens already with just 2 lines (2 simple sentences without bold/italic/inline code and separated by a line break)
First, the “readable line length” feature on phone is more than superfluous by the small screen size and shouldn’t even exist on phone.
Second, such an option is a general preference and has no reason to exist as a kind of “quick switch” mode in notes
Solutions
please put “readable line length” back into Obsidians settings, were this option belongs and where it was before
Alternatively, please put “readable line length” away in the options (3 dot menu on top) if this feature on phone is essential. I don’t see the point, but OK.
Or remove “readable line length” from phones, best choice in my opinion.
I’ve no clue where this pop-up comes from, but one thing is sure, it didn’t happen before v1.7.4. Right now it’s impossible to copy text in reading mode
No theme used and no plugins during testing, only my custom css.
FYI I can even invoke it from windows as well. It’s a special keyboard shortcut which I actually never use, here’s a screenshot from win11.
