I would agree with that.
I mean, from my experience on the forum, people pull in the annotations (only). They don’t make use of a separate standalone note. The nunjucks template you showed is for the annotations as well, not for the standalone notes.
There are other Zotero related plugin for Obsidian but they are often discontinued or for other use cases, and this is the most commonly used one.
As for how people do summaries, or when (after pulling in the annotation?), well, it’s up to the user.
- I recently saw a help post where the person brought in a half-processed import, added summary to it and wanted to bring in new annotations and had problems, so there are definitely kinks to iron out in other departments.
