In the past, several users have complained that bookmarks sync doesn’t work as expected.

I’m now adding myself to that list of users.
Let me say first that Obsidian Sync generally works quite well, which makes the bookmarks issue all the more ‘interesting.’
I’ve been using Sync for a year or so and in all that time, my Bookmarks have never synced across devices. Since I primarily use one device, I just put up with the inconvenience. However, over the weekend, I installed Obsidian on a new device and after the first sync, all my bookmarks are gone on all devices.
I think what may be happening is that the bookmarks are synced but the interface doesn’t update. Then if you change the bookmarks at all, it overwrites what was pulled in from Sync with the current visible state.
I got an email telling me “tough, we are working on it” and to reload either before or after…really unclear. This is a CORE plugin screwed up by a PAID service. This feels like the low-hanging fruit
I’ve started using Bookmarks more, and the new ones I add keep disappearing if I don’t carefully refresh and reload on all my devices. It’s frustrating. Sync settings and selective syncing - Obsidian Help says core plugin configurations should be hot reloaded. Possibly “configurations” only refers to settings and not to whatever this is considered — data? If so, this type of things isn’t explicitly mentioned there, just config and enabled/disabled state (which is not hot reloaded).
I’m using Obsidian 1.8.7 with Sync on iOS, & iPadOS 18.3.1 and MacOS 15.3.1.
