Perplexity.ai plugin
Has anyone made one yet? That would be very helpful. Besides the time it would save, there are formatting problems when copying in from Perplexity.
It’s not an Obsidian plugin, but I made a browser extension called Save my Chatbot to export Perplexity threads into markdown files.
It’s available for Chrome browsers (including Edge, Opera, Brave, etc.) and Firefox:
Im working on several Obsidian plugins including one to import Perplexity.ai threads & collections. I don’t have an anticipated completion date and I’m considering putting it in GitHub early if others are interested in assisting.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
David
i stopped using perplexity, i just use cursor web search
i find cursor UI less noisy and less context switching plus it can work on top of my vault
Hi David
Any progress on this, do you already have something up and running on GitHub?
Kindest regards,
We’ve got one working pretty well that’s pre-release @louis030195 @Generic.User
We also want to integrate Perplexica but sometimes it doesn’t work and we can’t figure out why yet ;(. We won’t submit it until Perplexica works but we juggle a lot of other projects and work so not sure when it will be done. At most a week or two. Then we have to wait for it to get approved.
We have local installation instructions from a fork or clone, so anyone can start using it now:
This is open source on The Unlicense and we welcome all hackers, tinkerers, and contributors. @payitforward if you want to collaborate we are a loose collection of tinkerers with allegiance to the Obsidian ecosystem. We’d be happy to include your or drive or get out of the way ![]()
FYI, this is now updated and includes a couple cool things:
-
Inclusion of Gemini and Claude, in addition to Perplexity, Vane (formerly Perplexica) and LM Studio.
-
Template driven and can be applied to an individual file or an entire directory. So, say, if you have 100 movie names in a folder and you want a summary of their rotten tomato reviews, you just apply the template to the entire folder.
