Paste as quote

In general, I copy and paste text from a person or a website. Then I format it as a quote.
It would be cool if there was a right-click option to “paste as quote.”

But what kind of quote? A callout? A simple indentation with > ? What is a quote?

Personally that would be enough.

The issue with “Toggle blockquote" command is that AFAIK you have to select multiple lines if you want to modify them using one action. On mobile that’s not usually a good experience.

“Paste the clipboard text as a blockquote” was a lifesaver but since an Obsidian update it started to give me issues with the native option "paste into URL”. Maybe give it a try.

The other “Paste modes” from the plugin would be nice to be included in core Obsidian. But with the 2nd (link above) would be enough.

Paste multiple paragraphs into block quote

Use case or problem I copy a bunch of text to the clipboard that I want to paste into Obsidian as a blockquote. Proposed solution What I intuitively do is type a single > at the beginning of the line to enter block quote mode, then I hit ⌘V to paste. This works if my selection is a single paragraph. But for multiple paragraphs, the first paragraph break in the pasted text exits the block quote. It would be nice of Obsidian to recognize my intent and paste all the text as blockquote. I don’t t…
