I am currently working on writing a book using Obsidian, and I have encountered a challenge related to organizing and previewing my content.
At the moment, all the text appears as one continuous page in the editor. This makes it difficult to visualize how the content will look when exported or printed, especially for long documents that consist of multiple sections or chapters.
I would love to have a feature or plugin that allows me to:
Preview my document as paginated pages directly within Obsidian.
Easily structure and adjust content to ensure proper layout before exporting.
This feature would be incredibly helpful for writers who work on long-form projects and need to maintain consistent structure and formatting.
Thank you for considering this, and I appreciate all the amazing work the community does to make Obsidian better every day!
Feature Requests go in the Feature requests section and need to follow the template. And you need to search first before submitting a new one. So I’m going to remove “Feature Request” from your title.
There are existing feature requests and plugins related to this. I don’t know if they cover everything you want (especially regarding structure and formatting unless you want to learn LaTeX or Pandoc), but it’s worth checking them out.
Some further keywords to search the forum or plugins for existing workflows or discussions: “long form”, “writing” “chapters”, “writing a book”, “scrivener”, “continuous”, “pagination”, “latex”, “Pandoc”
