This issue has been reported at least twice in two years : Zoom level reset on restart and Zoom level resets on app restart
Worth noting that appending body { zoom: 80%; } to CSS snippets messes up cursor movement severely.

I keep the zoom level in my vaults (on both Mac and windows) set lower than 100% and haven’t noticed any resets when closing and opening them.

When you get a chance, can you create a new test vault and put it in your home folder? Make sure the location is not in Desktop, Documents, or a sync service folder/location. Anywhere else will be fine.

I wonder if a sync service isn’t saving or loading the settings file properly.

It might indeed be something with Obsidian Git. Tt doesn’t consistently reset, just an eventual thing. I’ll report back once I’m able to reproduce it with a fresh vault.

I haven’t been able to replicate this in a while so I guess this issue got resolved one way or another.
