Obsidian Menu bar (Where is the documentation for the Obsidian desktop app's "View" menu on macOS?)

Where is the documentation that explains the purpose and behavior of the following two menu items under the View menu?

  1. Reading View
  2. Source Mode

Selecting one of these two menu items will toggle a checkmark.

That produces the following four combinations.

The following screenshot shows what I see on macOS 26.4.1.

Questions

  1. Where is the documentation for View -> Reading and View -> Source Mode?
  2. What is the purpose and behavior of the menu item’s checkmark that toggles each time you select Reading View or “Source Mode”?
  3. What kind of state does the checkmark indicate?

That menu is broken. There is a bug report about it.

The correct behavior is present in the tab context menu.
