Indeed. The various forms of “Obsidian didn’t save my note when I quit the app” bugs (I know I will be told that these bugs were “different”, but that is pure pedantism). The net effect was having to live with a taped-together handful of homegrown scripts to create backups and alert to corrupt files just to feel some sense of safety when working in the app.
This has been going on for close to 4 years. Just some examples…
- 2021-02 - Data loss - zero byte .md file in vault
- 2022-01 - 0-byte file (again) - note completely destroyed
- 2022-11 - File content sometimes gets lost/eresed/deleted if Obsidian is closed right after editing
- 2023-04 - Data loss - Note is suddenly empty!
In any case, glad it’s finally getting the attention it always deserved.
