Mobile UX : Scroll to Bottom

Use case or problem

  • I use obsidian for longform writing.
  • To make edits on mobile, I have to scroll down a lot before making edits

Proposed solution

  • Add a setting to open obsidian with cursor at last line and keyboard open for users who primarily open notes to edit.
  • Add a “Scroll to bottom” button on lower right corner and optionally add a jump to top button.

Current workaround (optional)

  • There is a scroll to top plugin but as the name implies, only scrolls to top
  • On desktop use ctrl + page up and ctrl + page down. Can use the same on mobile if keyboard is connected.

There’s a command called “go to last line.” You can pin it (and “go to first line” if you’d like) to the top of the palette and/or add it to your mobile toolbar with the Commander plugin.

Also, try the Remember Cursor Position plugin.

On Android, if you don’t have a physical keyboard connected, you can use the Hacker’s Keyboard as explained here

Fn + PgUp/PgDn

PS: I use this when I don’t have my Rii K06 Mini Bluetooth Keyboard connected.
