Mobile PDF Export

I was out on the road when I was asked for a copy of a document. Which would have been simple if I’d been able to send a PDF as on Desktop. As it was, I couldn’t until I got home.

Unfortunately, sending Markdown doesn’t work as most people can’t use it and it loses embeds and formatting.

It’s the only limitation on mobile! So close!

After long effort looking for solution like you guys. I found a pretty well Workaround within community plugin:

Seriously need this on Android please!
Feels very hamstrung, especially since the Share… choices are very limited

+1 to this. I think this is one of the basic things (from the user point of view) that must be covered over another more complex features, specially because there are other tool over there that already support this capability but obsidian being a so powerful tool doesn’t.

+1 - common on guys

SOLVED?

Ok - so, trying out some options, this work really well for Android:

Install Markor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details%3Fid%3Dnet.gsantner.markor

Then, in the Obsidian App, you get Markor appearing as a target for Share… in a Note.

The current note will be loaded into Markor and you can Print/Save as PDF (just select Save you PDF as the virtual printer)

And voila!

Thanks for the recommendation, im gonna try this later

I can confirm that this also works in iOS by invoking the share sheet in the File Explorer or the current document. Tested with 1Writer and iA Writer.

Adding my voice to this request. Having to work in other apps because this feature is missing.

Adding my voice to those requesting this important feature.

The problem though is all the obsidian-specific stuff is lost. I don’t understand why electron doesn’t allow printing of the view like how a browser prints to pdf

This feature request is specific to mobile, which doesn’t use Electron, it uses Capacitor. But idk the details of what it would take to support PDF export in the mobile app and whether or when the dev team will implement it. Using another markdown app for that is just a workaround, and as you note, not a fully satisfactory one.

Me too

+1 must have feature in mobile, looking forward for this

it’s been long enough, honestly. Surprised no plugin is capable of this.

+1 here.
I use Obsidian a lot for stuff that I want to send to others. PDF export on mobile / ios would be great. To be frank, even on Desktop it feels clunky. I just want to export it as seen in Preview Editor.

+1, android. created a forum account just to add my voice to this.

This would be especially helpful for my line of work. As a teacher, I could easily share the notes I’ve taken or outlines for units.
