What I’m trying to do
Things I have tried
Hi to all, has obsidian limits in the number of notes? or a maximum of content in a note? Maybe, in the case of - no limits - there are limits by using ram memory or power of the cpu?
thanks for help ^^
Thomas
Do you have a vault with a huge number of notes, or an example of a note that is enormous? Are you trying to import an existing knowledge-base? Are you planning on using Obsidian Sync? Details would help.
Otherwise, if you search the forum, there are some existing discussions:
ok, I use the obsidian sync but only for testing “look in the androidversion”
now I have couple of notes (maybe 100?) representing 150 sites of a book (lexika). I want to built up a knowledge base “kybernetik/complex systems” with a lot of links and more than 5000 sites of different books…
later I want use the graph sight and canvas too
I hope that helps.
Obsidian works very performantly on a old notebook with only 2 cpus and 12gb ram
There won’t be any problem just having and using 5000 notes, unless maybe your computer/phone is truly prehistoric. On the other hand, the graph view will probably become very slow with 5000 nodes — though long before then, your graph will have become so crowded that it probably won’t be helping your eyes understand anything anyway.
