Keyboard lag on specific file

Steps to reproduce

Typing in a large note (~13,000 words).

Expected result

No appreciable keyboard lag.

Actual result

Significant keyboard lag. (Have tried in safe mode; same result.)

Environment

  • Operating system: macOS 11.4
  • Obsidian version: 0.12.4

How big is your vault? How many notes? Do you have unlinked mentions open?

Can you post a screen recording?

Or even better can you provide us a performance recoding?

  1. Open developer console (cmd-shift-i on win/linux / cmd-opt-i on mac)
  2. Go to performance tab
  3. Click the circle button to start recording
  4. Do the activity that cause the lag
  5. Click the circle to stop recording. Use the arrow down button to save the snapshot
  6. Zip the file to make it smaller.
  7. Send it to me or Licat on discord referencing this bug report.

I have about 2100 notes in my vault. I tried turning off backlinks and outgoing links but it did not affect the lag. The lag only occurs in very large notes; in others everything behaves as expected. I’ll try to grab a recording to send you.
