Install for Windows without github?

Things I have tried: Nothing

What I want to do:

I’d like to install Obsidian in my work laptop, which does allow me to install anything I want, however, I can’t access github as it’s only allowed upon requests for Developers (which for some reason, as a DevOps engineer I don’t apply for). Is there any way to download the Windows client without using Github?

Thanks in advance!

If I am understanding your question correctly, you can download and install Obsidian from here: https://obsidian.md/download.

Good luck!

Hello!

Thanks for responding so fast, unfortunately that link leads to “https://github.com/obsidianmd/obsidian-releases/releases/download/v0.15.9/Obsidian.0.15.9.exe” Which is github, thus I can’t download the Windows client.

To clarify a bit further, I’d like to download the windows client without going into github, as it’s blocked for me.

Interesting!

You could try downloading the installer on another computer. I’m not sure if the installer requires GitHub, but I would be surprised.

I’d like to do that as well, but the usb ports are all blocked haha

Ha! Maybe email or share it via cloud.

Good luck! I’m sure you will get it working or someone will tell you another option.

^^^ exactly, just add it to your own Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, Mega Sharing, or any cloud service at home.

Or download the portable version from here, which is a Google Drive link:

https://forum.obsidian.md/t/run-in-portable-mode/915/71

Oh if I could use my own cloud drives I would’ve done it a long time ago, but that’s how IT companies go haha.

This actually worked though, the portable installer saved me! Thanks!
