Inline footnotes and external links

Steps to reproduce

1: Open any note
2: Add an inline footnote with an external link as such ^[see [some paper](www.example.com)]

Expected result

Observe that the link is not rendered like normal external links (the url is visible).
Also note that when going to reader mode the link in the footnote redirects to a new note.

Actual result

I expect it to link to http://www.example.com instead of the note “www.example.com
I expect it to not render the url (only the text) when I don’t have my cursor on the link.

Environment

  • Operating system: OSX, but reproduced on windows also with a fresh install.

thanks

Gentle bump, as this is still one of those minor annoyances for me, I like referencing online sources.

will be fixed in v1.6.

You’ll need to use https in front of the url
