Obsidian developers, you MUST make an additional customization in the column.
Change the node icon. To be not only circles, but for example squares, triangles or custom icons.

I also removed the “dataview” tag. That’s a different plugin.

And typing “URGENT” is not going to sway the developers’ priorities. They choose based on request popularity, feasibility, their own roadmap and other factors.

Adding shapes to graph view

It’s nice to be able to create color groups. But It will also be useful to be able to choose shapes, like squares, triangles, stars, to represent the nodes. A while ago, I did something like that using javascript vis in a HTML document I created for myself.

Option to change the shape of graph nodes

One way to make the graph more usable is by having tools to create visual hierarchy. One way to do that is by having options to visually distinguish between various types of nodes. Color is one way. Level of opacity could be another. Shape of the nodes could be another. Currently, the nodes are represented as circles. There could be an option to change the shape of nodes, in the same way you can change their color. For instance, I might choose to display MOCs (Maps Of Content) as squares …
