Re Sync navigation pane with active tab

What I’m trying to do

I need a way to disable the automatic syncing of the navigation pane with the current tab.

It completely wrecks the way I work, and it is next to impossible to drag files from the navigation pane into an open file.

There is a perfectly good community plugin that does the same job:

Reveal Active File Button v2.o.6 By Clare Macrae

It adds a button to the top of the navigation pane, and one click brings you to your open tab, so there is no need for this to be automatic.

I’m not entirely sure what the automatic syncing of the navigation pane with the current tab behavior looks like, but maybe disable this option/button here?

Depending on the theme, any custom colors, etc., it may be hard to tell if the button is clicked or not.

If it’s not that, maybe a screen recording could help to see what’s happening.

Thank you! I must have clicked on it by accident and it didn’t come up in my searches as the way to enable/disable the function.
