When I create a folder in a fault an then I am “in” that folder (i.e. I have selected it), how can I create a new note in this folder?
I have selected the folder and pressed cmd-N. But still the new Untitled note appears at the root of the fault. 
I want to create a new note in the current folder with a keyboard shortcut.
What can I do to achieve this with a keyboard shortcut?

Settings>Core Plugins>Unique Note Creator
Go to Settings > Files & links > Default location for new files, and set it to “Same as current file”. I’m not quite sure if that helps for the first file in that folder, but it’ll help later on for sure when you’re viewing a file in that folder.
How did you select the folder? Can you access the right-click menu, and doesn’t that have a new file item?

Indeed, I have to have selected a File not a Folder.
I can access the context menu for a folder, and there’s the new file entry, but this is a none keyboard way.
