Having the same problem as outlined in this linked post cannot connect to a NAS in Linux

We strongly recommend you to search the forum with possible keywords before submitting a new bug report. Please also try your repro steps with third-party plugins and custom CSS disabled and see if it’s still reproducible. Steps to reproduce

Open obsidian, try to connect to a NAS folder, does not even appear as an option

Expected result

I would expect the network folders to appear like in windows

Actual result

nothing appears

Environment

  • Operating system: Linux Mint
  • Obsidian version: the latest one in the software manager is 0.12.19

Additional information

I suggest to continue the conversation in that thread. This is a permission problem on popos .

As a side note: even if you manage to select the NAS folder, obsidian doesn’t work well on a NAS. The virtual remote filesystem that NAS is abstracted to doesn’t behave like a real local filesystem and Obsidian needs it.
