Footnotes that contain a link aren't recognized unless there is a space in the word

Steps to reproduce

  1. In any vault create a page
  2. Create some text, can be a single word
  3. Put a footnote [^1] at the end
  4. Create the footnote [^1]:Text
  5. Notice in edit mode that the link does not turn purple. However, if you switch to reading mode it displays as a purple highlighted link
  6. If you go back to edit mode and then put a space in the hard bracket after the first word such as Text Spaceword. It will change the link color properly.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Additional information

I can’t think of a more minor or insignificant bug, but a bug it is nonetheless.

I can’t get the link to turn purple even with a space (on iOS).
