File Explorer on Mobile: On hover file info tooltip shows up and sticks around

Steps to reproduce

Swipe up and down in the File Explorer. Try hold down the finger slightly longer than usual. You will see that the tooltip info sticks around even if the finger is released. This also has the effect that items with aria-info keep showing tooltips even after touch is released.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes this is running in clean vault no extensions.

Expected result

I expect that the touch would be ended when I release my finger. Instead touch lingers around that keeps aria labels visible. This is especially noticable in my plugin Notebook Navigator which has a more complex UX than the built-in File Explorer, but you can see the effect clearly in the built in navigator too, see video below.

Actual result

The touch “sticks” and is not released. This was introduced somewhere along 1.11 internal releases. You can see it in the built-in File Explorer when swiping with your finger, in that the file info window “sticks” when scrolling. But in my plugin Notebook Navigator you see it everywhere with elements that have aria strings / tooltip info attached - they just keep showing.

Check this video to understand the issue. I swipe up and down, but the touch “sticks” and is not released properly which means the tooltip info for files sticks around.

The effect in my plugin Notebook Navigator is that when I swipe between list view and navigation view, it does not understand that touch was released so when I swipe between panes and finger was last on an UX element, it thinks I am still touching screen and shows the aria label for that element.

This effect happens in both clean vault with no theme (see video and system info) and complex vaults.

I noticed something similar a bit ago: Discord clip. I didn’t dive into it or think it was iOS related at the time.

On an older device using iOS 26.1 I don’t see the issue, but do on my main device using iOS 26.2. Same vault and same Obsidian v1.11.2 (272).

Thanks. Yes it seems to be the same issue.

Not so noticeable with the built-in File Explorer and the standard toolbar buttons are rendered in a separate layer so they are not affected by this, maybe this is why the bug has gone unnoticed.

But very noticeable in my plugin that is more complex…
