When I open multiple pages, I notice significant lag, especially when there is a canvas page in the background and the current page is a markdown note within the canvas. The editing delay is quite noticeable.

Hey! As far as I know there is no ‘page sleep’ feature, but what might help is to check that you have hardware acceleration on in: Settings > Appearance > Advanced > Hardware acceleration.
This significantly speeds up loading times, and canvas editing for me.
