Corrupt files ? windows issue

I am increasingly frustrated at regular corruption of the MD files in my vault. I have a vault on an external hard drive which is shared by windows and linux (not at the same time, dual boot system) I am having regular corruptions to my files. thank fully I can use restore and file verions to help restore, but only if I spot the corruption.

I think (not 100%) it might be happening when I swap from windows back to linux. I use Linux mainly and windows for some tasks/app that i cannot do on linux.

Has anyone got any insight into this problem and how to stop it?

The hard drive is formatted exfat so both systems can access it.

TIA

Chris

I’m neither a Windows nor a Linux user but it might be potentially useful to add a bit more context  :

What do you mean by “file corruption”, more precisely ?

Mainly the corrupt files appear like this:

They are just plain .md files

This won’t probably help much  and I hope Windows/Linux Experts out here will chime in but I stumbled upon a very old topic (2021 old  ) of someone running into something similar with a somewhat similar setup (exFAT hard drive and dual boot Windows + Linux): All Markdown Files Corrupted

Obsidian has evolved a lot since then though  .

Maybe it could be worth to share the debug info of Obsidian (available in the command palette) you use on each OS ?
