Convert all Obsidian links to a common link format

Obsidian can be set to one of three types of Link Formats:

  • Shortest path when possible
  • Relative path to file
  • Absolute path in vault

Found in: [Preferences > Core > File > New link format]

Problem:

Switching from one to the other does not update any links previously created. It only works for newly created links.

Feature Request:

Since the importance of a consistent link style seems fundamental for a collection of markdown files, there should be a prompt or at least an option in the settings, to change all links in the vault to the the user’s newly selected format.

Found a plugin which may solve this. List it here for anyone who may need it.

Has anyone verified that this plugin works without any unintended consequences?

I think there is a plugin called Consistent links that keeps all links as standard, relative links. Been using for a long time. works. not sure about the other one posted above
