Consider allowing redistribution in the EULA

I have developed a port of Obsidian for FreeBSD. However, this port will not be built by the official FreeBSD package building cluster, because software license doesn’t allow redistribution.

Creating a package for Obsidian boils down to unpacking the .tar.gz release archive and then packing it back into FreeBSD .pkg archive.

It’d be great if Obsidian EULA would allow redistribution, even if only for packaging sake.

Bumping this post only once.

Personal user. Bought a license and created an account just to lobby for Obsidian on FreeBSD. Please consider it.

The FreeBSD ports works great, thanks @arrowd! I’ve been struggling a bit and had to build electron30 from ports as there was no pkg available for the version required by the obsidian, so it took a crazy amount of time, but I’m really happy to see that obsidian sync and obsidian is working well on FreeBSD.

Dear Obsidian team, it would be really cool to be able to install a bit more easily, so it would be really nice if you could consider the request relating to allowing the redistribution in the EULA.

I have my own poudriere to build a package for personal usage, but having an official package would be better indeed.

Is there a link to the port of Obsidian for FreeBSD?
