My use case is having protection from data loss when I have cut content from one note and accidentally selected different content and copied it before pasting the original cut content.
Proposed solution
In some programs they have history states, or a step backward command rather than just an undo and redo.
Current workaround (optional)
I sometimes am fortunate enough to be running a clipboard manager when this has occurred. It is something I don’t like always having running for security purposes, but it works when these snafus arise.

And 4,5 yrs later, did you find a solution for this? Maybe some clipboard manager that has this feature?
I think I just became very careful after a few unfortunate incidents. Perhaps undo improvements have made things better. Of course using Obsidian Sync or the Recovery core plugin could come to the rescue. There are also some clipboard managers that may help prevent data loss. I’ll have to check back once I have a chance. I appreciate that you put this back on my radar.
