Just noticed this. I have added a .pdf document that isn’t anywhere else to the canvas. Wehn I open the .pdf document and check the linked mentions there isn’t any.

Please add this feature ASAP.

Please! That’d be the game changer for many of us who center their MAPs around canvases!

Created an account just to add my +1 on this thread x2
:pensive:

Is there any update on this?

It’s the only thing keeping me subscribed to Heptabase, and I’d rather give my $$$ to the Obsidian team given all their great work on other parts of the software

Hi there just created an account also to add my voice to this long on going petition to have this bug fixed!

Definitely an intuitive expectation that anything added to a canvas be back linkable vice versa.

Would be redundant for me to add anymore details since the issue has been outlined in great detail in all the earlier responses to this thread, thank you all for raising this hopefully our voices will be heard!

Besides that exceptional app to the obsidian team and I hope this finds you well!

I just started using Canvas for my notes to organize them in a more mind-map like style. Was surprized/ shocked that they seem not to form connections like other notes. This kind of defeats their purpose within the obsidian environment for me… I could go back to createing mindmaps with other mindmapping tools and add them as a PDF attachment… So add me to the list of people desperately needing this feature. Please treat them as an alternative to linear notes!

Hi. It didn’t work for me. The plugin fails to load after the change.

Not gonna lie, when I googled this issue and found this thread I didn’t expect it to be almost two years old and still not solved.

I created an account just to say this feature is really needed, without it canvases are kinda useless, as you can’t use them to map your notes.

100%. I think this is a big limitation of canvas that needs addressing

Another vote for this from me too.

Adding my earnest vote to this. Definitely a must-have functionality.

a big vote for this

i understand that technically this might be difficult.

however, if this can be realised, it will be one of the most important functions to fully enable Canvas and therefore take Obsidian to a whole other higher level as a knowledge management tool

+1 to this, much needed.

I use canvas to chain up short notes, and showing them in the knowledge graph is essential. Now they just show up as orphans.
